An Air purification System And Everyday Allergies
Posted by electronic air cleaner in air purification system on February 13th, 2010
Living in southern Maryland, allergies are a very common occurrence in the area. Sometimes we even refer to certain times of the year as allergy season. The pollen in the air is so bad that it sticks to the cars and actually builds up on the car. It is so strong that it is hard to even wash off the cars. You cannot park your car under trees or they will become very dirty with pollen. As for the effect on me and others personally, you can’t be outside more than an hour or so at a time without it affecting you greatly. Your eyes begin to itch, run, and become red from rubbing and downright hurting. Since I am a runner it also affects my ability to train. During certain times of the year I have to run inside. I also have asthma and I believe that is a direct cause and reason why I developed it so late in my life. This was not a onetime occurrence. The pollen and allergies come around for me every year. It is always a big problem and I always have to seek medical attention. I always need medicine to help combat the allergies. One time it affected my asthma so bad that I stopped breathing and had to be rushed to the hospital. I was in the hospital for a few days before I got better. The allergies have always affected my life. Personally, I do not think an air purifier would have helped me since inside I don’t have any problems. It only occurs when I’m outside for greater than an hour or two. Allergies and pollen are a huge problem where I come from. I would say that almost fifty percent of the area I live in suffer from allergies and have problems. My eyes are always red and I am always sneezing. It hurts my life and is harmful to my ability to run and play sports. Allergies are part of my everyday life.

Aerosol Allergy Attack And How Electronic Air Cleaner Can Assist

I’m not quite sure that this will qualify, but for what it’s worth here’s my airborne allergen story. I was about 19 years old, I worked in a small store in a small English market town. Most of the time I was the only person there so my friends and my younger brother’s friends and a few others would hang out there after school.

I must have wound one of them up badly one day because by way of revenge, just before closing time, they emptied the entire contents of an aerosol air freshener into the back office and left. Dutifully I sat in the super-freshened mist and cashed up. It stank! The symptoms started about an hour later and lasted for the best part of 48 hours. I was sneezing, my nose was running and my eyes were streaming. It was like having the begging of a stinking cold for two whole days. Then suddenly, as quickly as it had started, it was gone again. It took me most of that time to realise what had happened because it was only as it cleared away so quickly that it was clear what the cause had been. I don’t think I needed medical assistance and I certainly didn’t seek it, though it might have been cleared up more quickly had I consulted the doc. I don’t think that that time (early 1980s) I even knew what an air purifier was, much less known if it would have helped!

My Airborne Allergy Attack
Posted by electronic air cleaner in home air purifiers on January 30th, 2010
It first started when I moved into my new house, which is unfortunatly for allergy sufferers is in a new neighborhood which at times, is horribly dusty. On the hot summer day, as I opened the window to cool down the house, a large gust of wind came in. My new neighbor was cutting his grass at the time, which blew grass clippings into my home with all of the dirt and dust! My window’s and sil’s were covered in dust. At first I was ok, and then I sneezed, again, and again. After about 5 minutes of sneezing I was okay. I grabbed paper towel and wiped down the windows and sil’s. I walked back to the kitchen and when I turned around, my eyes started to itch and water, I decided to go wash my hands and discard the paper towel before I accidentally rubbed my eyes. I walked into the bathroom to wash my hands, I couldn’t believe what I saw in the mirror, my nose and my eyes were red and swollen. I quickly became worried, my eyes swelled up so much I could barely see myself in the mirrow. I dialed the number of a friend who is a nurse at a local hospital, which insisted I get a air purifier and take an over the counter anti histamine. The swelling and redness were gone completely within about 36 hours, I now know not to open windows when it’s breezy, I now have something new I love, my new air purifier which cleans the air and helps me sleep at night.

Airborne Allergeons vs. Contact Lenses And A How honeywell electronic air cleaner can help
Posted by electronic air cleaner in electronic air cleaner on January 8th, 2010
Once upon a time I wore contact lenses: they lost two battles to airborne allergeons, and that proved to be enough to lose at war. My eyes were the battlefield, and now peace reigns and is maintained by wearing eye glasses. I’ll tell you the two-part story.
Part One: I dearly love London, England, and my favorite neighborhood is Knightsbridge, including the world famous Harrod’s department store. One day I was thoroughly enjoying this great market place and was making purchases including a portable Scrabble board, brass hooks and accessories for my home, some Harrod’s souvenirs and a Harris tweed cap. I also paused with my family members for high tea in one of the store restaurants.
The route from the brass accessories to the tweed caps took me through the very elegant perfume and scent department, and somehow I had to traverse this area more than once. My eyes began by watering, then stinging. Then they graduated to feeling as if ground glass had been poured into them. I ran from this department and closed my eyes against the pain, collapsed in a doorway with fresh air at hand. I squeezed my eyes tight knowing I could not touch or rub them due to the contacts: eventually there were sufficient tears enough to see my way back to my hotel via London Underground, and I was able to both remove my contacts and wash my eyes thoroughly.
Part Two: Nearly a year later, I was at an important business convention in the springtime. At a crucial juncture when I should have been concentrating on voting certain important resolutions, my eyes began stinging again. Flower pollen was the culprit, and once again I did not have a contact lens case or eye drops with me. The stinging continued, and then the sensation of ground glass in my eyes was upon me. I could not get sufficient relief, even by placing towels soaked in cold water on my eyes.
Someone had to take me home, and I missed the remainder of the convention. I have not worn contacts since that day. Would air filters have helped? In the first instance, I do not know, because I do not understand whether the types of allergeons in the perfume department at Harrod’s . In the second instance, yes, I believe air purification would have alleviated the pollens in the indoor environment at the convention center.

Electronic Air Filter Cleaner

There are two types of electronic air cleaners currently available. The first type is what you might call the EPA-type electronic air cleaner. These are also called electronic precipitators. This air purifiers for the home has a charging section that charges the particles as they enter and a collector section made up of metal plates that are oppositely charged, to collect the particles. The downside to this method is the production of ozone. By virtue of their design, they produce ozone in uncontrollable amounts. This is what the EPA doesn’t like. Unfortunately, the EPA has lumped all electronic air cleaners into this one category and has disapproved of their use.

Electronic Air Cleaner Filter

Any sort of Electronic Air Cleaner Filter can be expensive. Anywhere from $70 to $100 dollars for a filter. It is more of a grill, so you will not need to buy another one or have a messy time trying to get rid of it. I would be very watchful of prices, and places like amazon.com have really good prices on home goods. I’ve bought several HEPA air filters from there and had wonderful luck.

Electronic Air Filter Cleaner Carrier has a really good website in finding air filter cleaners. it shows what kind is compatible with what, as well as pros to buying it. Honeywell has a slim but tall apparatus that helps clean the filter. they trap up to 98% of bad bacteria within the air.Overall, i would buy pretty much any air purifier as long as i knew it was cleaning the air that i breathe.
